My most heartbreaking that happened last month. I accidently turned light off in the kitchen while Mikaela was there. She cried and cried. (it wasn't dark as we have light in the next room). Kyron was pointing at Mikaela. I ran to her - what's matter? She was crying so hard. She said, "I called mommy mommy mommy and you didn't hear me!" I said I'm sorry... you're right that I can not hear because I'm deaf. She said - I cried - MOMMY real loud. I dropped my tears. I said to her - I'm so sorry and I do wish I could hear you.
She finally asked me - why you deaf me hearing? I said - I don't know... I born deaf and you born hearing. I teased her a little to make her feel better... You hearing because you sing very well and love to listen music. She smiled and said - Wish you could hear me sing a song. It brokes my heart again! I said I can see you signing a song. She smiled and signed a song.
I was wondering... what is like to be hear her voice? She loves to sing... I will try video her singing someday... Now Kyron loves music just like her sister Mikaela. He always asked me to turn music on. Means other singer in the family...

Now I have big tears! Big hugs to you all.
That's heatbreaking, but it sounds like you handled yourself the best way possible!
I'm sorry. I know those moments when your children will come to you and say something that drops you.
Sydney will be gone and I won't see her for a while....when she comes out of hiding she will say in the saddest voice...mama you hurt my feelings. After talking to her we figure things out and she's fine...but it always reminds me of how sensitive she is.
I'm glad that you were able to talk to her about it. It will probably not be the last time.
You handled that beautifully. Children have such a gift on honesty, don't they? You are blessed.
You are a wonderful mom hearing or not. I am sorry that you had to feel bad. Hugs girlie!!
Oh no that is sad! You are a great mom and handled it well. I think you probably have a better line of communication with your kids than most parents do, because you have to look at eachother when you talk. I find myself just yelling something to Cam in the other room, and he probably is not even listening!
omg t. this post made me CRY. it is so difficult to explain to our shortcomings to our children and believe me, we ALL have them. right now it is so difficult to explain to your children because they are young. but as they get older, they will not only understand, but they will love you that much more for being the wonderful parents that you are because they will hvae a better understanding of the extra effort you both made and all the love you have for them. you both are my inspiration... :)
